Drunken Oaths are never a good idea - WHFRP 3rd Ed
Matt Session 18
We head out towards the forest intent on investigating the castle. At night, a knight riding nothing attacks us, Rorek’s axes seem not to harm the ghost. My prayers and Johann’s spells hurt the thing plenty though. After a while it disappears.
Another day of travelling, another (k)nightly encounter. The Rorek suggest we come at the castle from a different angle, so we give that a go.
Day X – X
What do you know, the dwarf had a good idea. We come upon the forest and I tell the others not to damage the forest or kill anything as folk tales tell of those who don’t treat the forest of Athel Loren with respect. Each night I gather wood that has already fallen from trees and hunt the old or weak from the pack animals so as not to offend any spirits that reside here. One day, I notice we are being followed. I tell the others to keep going in a easterly direction while I hide and wait for our watchers to pass me. Sure enough, some of the fair folk miss seeing me and move past my position. I break stealth and ask them if they require anything from us and explain our intent. They tell me that a Bretonnion noble had been intent on claiming some of the forest and so they have cursed him in death to remain in his castle. Some foolhardy individuals seeking treasure may have broken the magical seals and let him lose, but he is always bound to return to the castle each day. They tell me that if we removed the entire castle, that would be sufficient or re-seal the portal. I bid them fairwell and catch up with the others and tell them what happened.
