23 Erntzeit to 3 Brauzeit
Over the next 17 days they head back down the Mountains, down the Southern road, and start crossing back up into the mountains towards Khazid Algskarag.
They spend a day in Khazid Algskarag restocking various supplies.
Matt attempts to buy a travel sized Anvil to help out Johann and Rorek practice the new crafts they’ve been picking up, but is unable to find anything small and convenient.
Rorek thinks it’s a good idea, and attempts to find something himself, but is unable to find something himself.
Nathaniel decides to spend some of the money they did get from their adventures and get their growing group more supplies.
He gets some horse, carts, and some good sized tents.
5 Brauzeit to 11 Kaldezeit
They have a relatively calm period of travelling along the southern edge of the Elven forest, making do with a mix of hunting and the travel rations they packed.
On the 12th of Kaldezeit they come within sight of Salignac La Rouge.
A part rides out to meet them, who isn’t too pleased that Lord Nathaniel can’t speak Britonian and needs to have his Herald translate for him.
The riding party is lead by a Knight of the Realm known as Leon Clerisseau.
After some skilled negotiations by Nathaniel’s Herald they are allowed into Salignac La Rouge.
Inside of the city they get introduced to Lord Jordan Arsenault who runs the place.
After some pleasant introductions Nathaniel is invited to stay for a while.
However Nathaniel has picked up their is a jousting tournament happening tomorrow, and he is determined to avoid it.
As such Nathaniel turns down the offer to stay for anything more than a single evening, and arranges for his Halfling cook to help prepare some special meals as a gift to Lord Arsenault.
While Nathaniel spends his time being diplomatic, Rorek uses it as a chance to finally get his hands on some blacksmithing supplies, including finally getting a travel sized anvil.
It’s only human quality, rather than the Dwarven one he wanted, but he decides it’s at least good enough to practice on.
13 Kladezeit to 23 Kladezeit
Over the next 10 days they travel to Paillole, however with their supplies going well they don’t stop for more than a night.
24 Kladezeit to 32 Kladezeit
It takes them only 8 days to reach Marguilles next, which is a larger town of Bretonia.
By now Winter is really starting to kick in, but the party decides they can continue to push on.
Before they do however, they stock up on food.
Rorek takes the chance to also stock up on some metal to practice with, and Nathaniel buys a large tapestry in case he has to give a gift to another Lord at some point.
As they head off again they get the Herald to start giving them language lessons, with everyone but Rorek quite interested in learning the local language.
33 Kladezeit to 6 Ulriczeit
Over the next 7 days they head Northwards, however even with the occasional light snowfall that has been happening, Rorek is able to spot a dead body lying in the fields to the side of the road.
Matt goes to investigate and finds signs that it was fleeing towards the road from something further into the fields and towards the forest.
What really catches his interest however is that the body looks like it was cut up by a sword, but the clothing shows no sign of being damaged at all.
Matt looks around for tracks, and eventually finds another dead body, this time female, showing similar wounds.
There are no tracks for whatever it is that killed them.
Nathaniel makes the decision they should look into it further, so with Matt leading the way by scouting ahead they head into the fields.
After a few hours they come across a small village, where they ask to speak to whomever is in charge.
An old Man comes out, and talking through Nathaniel’s Herald he asks them to quickly come inside before dark.
After some prompting they’re able to find out that there’s an evil spirit about that has been killing people who are outside after dark.
Once everyone has been split up and went into the various housing they’re able to get more information from the village Elder.
He explains that some youths of the village had left town following an old legend, and went into Athel Loren.
There they seem to have disturbed something that now comes out at night to hunt down those who shared the youths blood.
With a night to pass they are told the story about how a Baron of Britonia decided he didn’t like the Elves claim on Athel Loren and had decided to try and clear a section in the forest to build a castle there.
The project was cursed however, and never completed, the Baron dying a horrible death for daring to defy the Fae who live there.
For hundreds of years it was just a story passed down, and no one entered there, but now something came from that forest again.
Nathaniel, with some prompting from Matt, decides this sounds like an excellent adventure, and they decide to head into the forest to see what is happening.
End of session.
